Taylor Atkins Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Taylor Atkins Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of one of our young members, Taylor James Atkins who passed away on January 7th 1999 in a very unfortunate winery related accident. Taylor’s generous and free spirit lives on in the young Clubhouse members as they pursue their dreams…you are gone, but never forgotten.
Taylor’s family, Lifetime members, Cris and Charles Atkins have been active members of the Hollydale Community Clubhouse for several years and have provided the community with many hours of unselfish service, hosting numerous family social gatherings, including the Clubs top line Reggae Fundraisers featuring Pato Banton, Junior Toot’s, the Dirty Dub Band and the James White Trio. In honor of their son the Hollydale Community Club has established this Scholarship Fund for local classrooms/programs and students whose family are active members of our Community Family Social Club.
This scholarship was designed to give every student an opportunity to experience schooling at all levels regardless of grade point average or accomplishments…It is the hope of the Atkins that every young person has a chance to experience life whether they decide to attend a 4-year college or interest lies in a trade school.
The amount of the award will vary depending upon the number of applicants and school supported program requests. The deadline for the application is August 1st of graduating year.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Members of the Hollydale Community Club, you are wished much success in your continued education. Selection of Scholarship recipients will be conducted at the General Monthly September meeting. Over $17,000 distributed since 2003.
